# Brickomatic pilot-teacher trial checklist

All twelve lessons are drafts. No physical or classroom trials have been completed.

## Pilot selection and physical test protocol

1. Invite pilot teachers with actual BricQ Motion Essential and SPIKE Essential sets. Confirm grade, learner support needs, available lesson time, kit quantity and condition. Adjust the two-family shortlist if their cupboards differ.
2. For each lesson, record exact kit number and edition, actual pieces used, piece counts and every extra classroom supply. Photograph the tray and record missing pieces. Do not require children’s faces or names.
3. An adult independently attempts at least two substantially different solutions without a supplied build recipe. Run every stated load, distance, timing and repetition exactly. Record raw results, unsuccessful attempts and any changed criteria.
4. Repeat with the suggested alternative materials and a mostly-complete kit. Remove one essential intentionally and confirm the alternative preserves the learning goal. An alternative that changes the concept must become a revised activity rather than silently passing.
5. Check setup, retrieval, safe use, reset and storage. Check that there are enough materials for every simultaneous group. Use light classroom loads only, on a low test surface.
6. Run a pilot lesson with a teacher who did not author it. Time preparation, explanation, making, trials, assessment and cleanup separately. Observe instructions that needed clarification and whether children retained meaningful design choices.
7. Collect anonymous examples of explanation, recorded results and design revisions. Use the three success criteria and Needs a nudge / Explains with help / Explains independently rubric. Assess learning separately from construction polish.
8. Have an educator review grade readiness, standard edition/code, scope, vocabulary, support and extension. Check the artwork for accidental solution cues and the printout in colour and greyscale.
9. Record findings below. Revise the lesson and rerun affected physical and classroom checks before promoting it out of pilot status.
